Jeremy Rappleye 教授

Jeremy Rappleye,香港大学教育学院教授。曾作为白眉学者在日本京都大学工作十余年,并受邀担任日本研究国际中心的研究员。在教育文化与哲学、东亚和东南亚教育历史发展与当代变革、比较教育、全球教育治理与国际组织等领域开展研究。近年来尤为关注文化心理学与教育学的跨学科研究。曾担任UNESCO和World Bank等国际组织和日本文部省的高级顾问专家。

董轩,华东师范大学教育学系教授,博士生导师。主要研究领域包括教育人类学、人类学理论与方法、学校生活研究、学校制度与组织文化、教师发展与团队文化建设等。


讲座简介

Over the past two decades, the research capacity of Chinese universities has grown exponentially: world-leading academic publications, cultivation of world-leading researchers, and the development of several world-class universities. However, this growth has not yet led to significant social and cultural impacts at a global level. This lack of impact is particularly true in the field of educational research, traditionally one of the most important areas of Chinese social and cultural life. In this context, this talk explores potential ways to share more Chinese intellectual resources (中国思想资源) with the global education research community. As an illustrative example, it focuses on fundamental concepts in educational research such as “objective/subjective” (客观—主观) “subject/object” (主体—客体), and “subjectivity/objectivity “ (客观性—主观性), underscoring that Chinese scholarship can add new understandings to these fundamental terms that are not captured in English (or other Western languages). In the next step, this deep philosophical and linguistic discussion is applied to contemporary global policy: the OECD’s Well-Being 2030 Agenda. Through this double move of (i) critically digging deeper into history and tradition, and (ii) carefully comparing/contrasting it with Western modernity, the global potential of Chinese intellectual resources becomes visible.
